The SDA welcomes the meeting of Dalai and Obama

21 Feb 2010

The SDA welcomes the meeting between His Holiness Dalai Lama and the US President Barack Obama, in February 2010.

The meeting shows the support of Obama and US people on democracy, religious and cultural liberty.

We have met His Holiness Dalai Lama in Australia in June 2008 and India in March 2009. He is wise and kind. He hopes that Tibetan people and Han people can live peacefully. He has positive altitude towards the police of `One country two system’.

We hope that the Mainland Chinese government can understand more about the thinking of His Holiness Dalai Lama, and interact with him not only politically, but also socially and culturally.

In September 2009, His Holiness Dalai Lama has a successful social and cultural trip to Taiwan. We hope that he can have chances to visit other parts of China, including Hong Kong, socially and culturally.

We will send letter to the Chinese Authorities to discuss about that issue.
